Now that the weather and visibility have considerably improved, speed monitoring throughout the village is resuming from the beginning of March.
Unfortunately some drivers, particularly HGVs, have got used to not seeing the team on village roads and are deliberately ignoring speed limits, overtaking dangerously and some are even ignoring red traffic lights in Dinah’s Hollow. A phone pole was hit recently by a speeding driver who failed to negotiate a bend within the 20mph zone. This resulted in a number of villagers being without a landline phone or internet for nearly a month. In an area where there is very poor mobile reception, this was a serious problem for the elderly and sick residents.
We need your help to bring safety back to your village. Although we have an enthusiastic group of members on the C13 and B3081 we need more support, including members from the A350 residents in the Parish. If you can spare one hour per week to help keep your roads safe please contact me on 01747 853122 or e-mail email@example.com.
